Characteristics
The glass of which the fermentation bottle is made from recycled with all approvals for contact with food. Fermentation bottles with a wide opening are characterized by a thicker glass structure than fermentation bottles with a narrow opening.
Use
Fermentation bottles should not be washed in hot water and exposed to rapid thermal changes (from a cold to a warm environment), too high a temperature can damage the glass. It is recommended to wash the bottles in lukewarm water with the addition of disinfectants such as potassium metabisulphite
The advantage of glass fermentation bottles is their high density and the ability to "look" in the fermentation process. From a practical point of view, it is recommended to carry out the first fermentation in the pulp in the fermentation container, then after the first assembly and pressing of the fruit, with further fermentation being carried out in a glass fermentation bottle.
This product is artisanally produced in Italy, made of recycled glass and stored outside at the factory. Therefore differences in colour and transparency may occur and natural debris like sand and leaves may be found on or in the demijohn as you receive them. This debris can easily be removed while cleaning and preparing your demijohn for first use.
